Project 4
My first month at St. Andrews, Nov 2019
During this time I have been settling in to the town and the Centre for Biological Diversity, at the Sir Harold Mitchell Building. I have been getting to know other PhD students and research members who are currently working at the Centre.
Regarding the project itself, I have been reading previous works in the bioinformatic field, especially related to chickens, domestication processes and the stress response. This allowed me to realise all the knowledge it has been discovered and where the knowledge is still missing.
I have been taking courses in basic bioinformatics and statistical analysis, and with both of my supervisors here in St. Andrews, we decided to start working, within the next few weeks, with some databases to get to know all the possible analysis we can perform in order to discover knowledge. I look forward to the coming weeks.
